Understanding Minimum Medical and Conveyance Allowances: What Are the Rules for Employers?

Dear All,

I would like to know what the minimum amount of Medical and conveyance allowance we have to give to an employee is. To my knowledge, I know that Rs. 1250 for medical and Rs. 1600 for conveyance is the maximum limit for TDS exemption. But, can I give conveyance and medical of any amount? Please guide.
