I joined a small company in Jayanagar 4T Block. The interviewer offered me a job, but no offer letter. Is it good to work without an offer letter. He has not given me an identity card as well. Is it advisable to work for such a company

Hello,
Dear as per HR policy of every organization which selects the candidate is being offered OFFER LETTER where everything is mentioned such as Salary, Job location , Job responsibilities,to whom you have to report , Leaves, code of conduct,Resignation procedure etc. and its candidate who accepts its. In your case you should demand for it so all above picture will be cleared ,if suppose company hesitates to give it then i will suggest you to look for another professional company.
Best of Luck....

When did you join the firm? Did the interviewer tell you what the job involves, pay scale, etc.?

Without offer letter there can be issues of terms and conditions, Pay, scope of work etc.
Request for offer letter to have things in black and white.
In case of unfortunate dispute, there will be nothing to back your stand.
some small firms operate in this fashion, you will have to take a call on whether to accept this unprofessional arrangement.

Offer letter is very essential for both the firm and the candidate as it paves the way for clarity in terms of job responsibilities, salary, reporting mechanism etc. Therefore, I think that you need to demand for such letter even if your company does not provide it. The absence of that letter might increase the uncertainty the job.

Dear Pulavi75
If the concern did not pay you at the end of month or pay a paltry amount ? What you will do if anything goes wrong with you? How do you tell that you are working in X agency, sine you have got no proof of employment. Now you decide what should you do. In my opinion you should not step in without an appointment letter.

Just tell them that "without offer letter I cannot work for you sorry!"

Dear Sir
Offer letter is the must for any any employee. without such offer letter, your candidature is not binding under legal. The relationship between employer and employee first of all lies and starts with offer letter only.
Offer letter is the base for your employment as well as first step. So insist for offer letter from the employer if not provided.
Great

Hi
What stated above is absolutely correct. All must be in writing but if you are satisfied with your job & working conditions of the employment that committed to you, go ahead. It is private sector, i have seen so may prominent company which serve each & every employment document to employee but do follow the system & adopt unfair labour practice.

Howsoever desperate you may be, never ever, take onto a job without the appointment letter. This is a legal document between you and the employer (signed by both) and incorporates the terms and conditions of employment.
In the absence of this ALL VALUABLE AGREEMENT the 'employer' can come up with 'anything' against , and you'd be in for big trouble.
Look before you leap!
