I'm an MBA 1st-year student, and my aim is to become an HR executive. I only have one year, so I need to improve my skills because it is not just an aim; it's one of my dreams.

Upon successful completion of your course, you can be hired as a trainee in HR. Now, you should strive to learn more in the field you wish to pursue and approach it in a positive way. The working styles of every organization are different from each other. It is advisable to undergo training or work on a project in a medium-sized production factory where at least 1,000 workers are employed each day. Your thorough observation during the training program will enhance your skills, and further experience gained through work will be invaluable. Everything depends on your efforts.

The Importance of English Language Skills

First and foremost, please improve your English language skills. You are expected to draft or prepare letters, formats, circulars, memos, etc. Many youngsters with MBA qualifications come here requesting us to draft simple circulars. It is really a shame and pity that people focus on qualifications but not skills. Communication is a skill required for all, but drafting skills, i.e., written English, are a very basic fundamental requirement. In your own letter, I can find that every second word has issues like punctuation, capital letters, or commas missing! Youngsters are unfortunately influenced or spoiled by mobile lingo. Learn to write English properly.

The Role of English Speaking in Career Development

Secondly, good English speaking skills are the foundation for a bright career. What you study in business schools is just theoretical knowledge for passing exams. You should know what the actual HR activities are that happen in industries. It is a different cup of tea altogether. Therefore, don't get enamored by your qualifications; there is much more beyond that. Hence, develop the urge, desire, and passion to learn everything that is required. Whichever company or organization you join, get to know the business functions of the company in-depth. HR is a business partner, so do not confine yourself to your area of operation alone.

Best wishes.
