Hello dear senior members, I'm working in a small IT company with a staff of around 15 as an HR executive, and I'm the only HR here. I'm facing a problem related to workplace romance (not sure if this is the right term for the situation).
A girl and a boy working in the same department have started getting close to each other. They are both engaged, but not to each other. They frequently visit each other's place, engage in brief chit-chats for 2-5 minutes, hold hands, caress cheeks, etc.
The issue is that their behavior may be distracting to others and could be affecting the productivity of both individuals as they seem preoccupied with finding opportunities to connect.
I seek your advice on whether it would be appropriate to directly address this situation with both of them through a managerial representative. Please note that termination is not an option as they are both integral to the company and handle key client responsibilities.
I would appreciate your suggestions on potential courses of action beyond issuing a warning.
Thank you in advance.
