Kindly advise regarding UAN: If a person settles their PF account, then the PF member Account Number is closed. But what about UAN? Can a person continue with the same UAN for new employment if the PF account is settled or create a new UAN?
If you settle your account, there is no need to use the same UAN. If you have any questions about withdrawing your amount, remember that the PF is meant for future funds, not present funds. It is advisable to opt for a new UAN.
UAN stands for Universal Account Number. An employee withdrawing their PF accumulations does not prevent them from linking their UAN to subsequent employment. The very purpose of introducing UAN is defeated if a new UAN is created without linking it to an existing UAN.
