How Do I Handle My EPF Pension Certificate as I Approach Retirement Age?

Dear Sir,

I received the PF pension scheme certificate in December 2013, and I am currently 47 years old. The certificate was issued from Bandra (Mumbai-1) while I am in Bangalore.

Could you please advise me on how to process the certificate when I turn 53 years old? Should I visit the bank now to register my scheme certificate?

I would appreciate it if you could provide me with some guidance on this matter.

Dear Mr. Saravana Kumaran,

At the present age of 47 years, you are not eligible to avail EPS Pension. After completing 50 years, you are eligible for a pension provided your Scheme Certificate mentions that the Pensionable Service is 10 years or more.
