Dear Sir, I am Captain Azad Kumar, the former master of the vessel M.T. Ark Progress owned by Integrity Ships Pvt. Ltd. at 4, Sadanand Road, Kolkata-700026. My RPSL No is 007, issued on 20.02.2015.
I would like to seek advice from you regarding my situation. I joined the vessel on the 4th of April 2017 and signed off on the 7th of July 2017 while the vessel was at the port of Haldia in Kolkata.
Upon signing off, I was assured by Captain Jagjit Singh Grewal (Operation Superintendent/DPA) and Mr. Saha (Technical Superintendent) that this is an RPSL registered company and that my salary would be remitted to my bank account within the next two working days. As the master of the vessel, I trusted their assurance and agreed to sign off, along with the cook, Mr. Kundu. While Mr. Kundu's salary was remitted after about a week upon my reminder, I have yet to receive my full salary.
Despite multiple inquiries, I have been consistently given excuses and promises that my salary would be remitted in the next few days. Eventually, the company did remit a partial amount of USD 4198.50 to my bank on 27th July 2017, leaving a balance of 5903.33 USD pending. They have assured me that the remaining balance will be remitted the following week, but this promise has not been fulfilled.
Even after almost three months since my sign-off, I am still waiting to receive my full salary. I have attached my balance of wages slip and contract letter for your reference.
I kindly seek your advice on how to proceed to receive my hard-earned salary.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Captain Azad Kumar
