Employee Absent Without Notice After Diwali: Should We Issue a Warning Letter?

Dear All,

I am working in a new setup Korean MNC company. Our employee has been absent for 5 days after the Diwali vacation without any intimation. My query is, can we issue a warning letter to him?

Dear Ganesh,

The concerned employee has joined duty. You can issue a warning letter if they fail to report for duty. Alternatively, if the employee has not yet reported for duty, you can send the RPAL to the employee's address.

Thank you.

Dear Ganesh,

These kinds of letters should be sent or issued immediately. In general, an NRD (non-reporting to duty) letter has to be sent on the third day of absenteeism in RPAD (registered post acknowledgment due) asking him to explain the reason for absence. If he comes back even after receiving the letter, hand over a hard copy and take his reply to keep in records, which shall make an employee adhere to attendance or leave rules.
