Understanding Employee Leave Types: Are PL, CL, SL, and ML Standard Across All Companies?

I am a software engineer, and my question is regarding payroll. How many types of leave can an employee gain? Is leave fixed for all business employees, such as PL, CL, SL, ML, or is it different for each business based on their leave policy?

If you are working in an office, then you fall under the State Shops Act. In such a case, refer to the leave provisions under the said act. If you work in a factory, you will be entitled to one day's leave for every 20 days worked. This is termed as 'annual leave with wages'.

Various nomenclatures are used depending on the organizational policy. Some may call it EL, some PL, some Annual Leave with wages, or some other name. CL is different as it is for certain sudden contingencies. While CL is for meeting sudden contingencies, Medical Leave/Sick Leave is for medical needs. There cannot be a general term covering all of them.
