Are Contract Employees Eligible for Bonuses? Seeking Insights from Experienced Professionals

Within ten years (2001-2011), I worked at Mizoram University (a central university) on a contract basis. During these years, I did not receive any bonuses. Some of our administrative officers informed me that there are no bonuses for contract employees. Is it possible for contract employees to receive bonuses? Could any senior personnel provide me with information on this matter?

Employees employed by universities and other educational institutions are not covered by the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965, vide its section 32(v)(b).
