Equivalent Positions for Assistant Vice President

I wanted to know what the equivalent positions are for Assistant Vice President. In Bangladesh, most banks follow the presidential designation inside the organization. However, there are banks that don't follow this type of organogram too. I have noticed that the overwhelming majority of Western countries have AVP roles in their companies. Does anyone have any idea as to why this difference?
