How Can We Fix My Father's Name Discrepancy on His License and Pension Account?

Dear Sir/Madam, My father, in his childhood, was sent to his father-in-law's house because they did not have male children. He grew up there, and all his studies were completed under their supervision until the 10th standard. The 10th standard documents bear the surname of his father-in-law and his father's name as his father-in-law's name.

After finishing the 10th standard, he returned to his parents' house as his father-in-law could not afford further studies. Unfortunately, upon his return to his mother's home, he halted his studies, applied for a license, and obtained a badge based on his 10th class certificate (surname and father's name as in-laws).

All other documents, such as my father's Aadhar card, Voter card, etc., carry his actual surname and his actual father's name. The issue now arises with the driving license and pension account, which display the surname of his father-in-law and his father's name as his father-in-law's name. Due to this discrepancy, he is facing difficulties in obtaining driver positions since the names on the license and Aadhar card do not match.

I kindly request suggestions on how we can rectify the names on the driving license and pension account without any hassles. I appreciate any guidance provided.

Dear friend, never get confused with all these things; a name is meaningful unless for a purpose. In your case, you have not mentioned the birth certificate and the name therein. The birth certificate is an important document when entering the name, surname in the X standard/TC. Make yourself clear:

1) You want Aadhaar card, voter card, etc., as in pension documents, otherwise...

2) Make one thing clear: what is the name you want, actual name or as mentioned in X standard?

My suggestion is, when pension documents are clear and getting financial benefits, it's better to change everything in the same way as in pension. Get Aadhaar edited in the e-governance, license can be edited by getting a new one, apply for a new voter ID (as elections are held once every 5 years, you can get it done).

As a child, make yourself clear in all documents with your surname and father's name; never muddle with names.
