Responsibilities of an Operations Head

A big yes! Unless your organization states otherwise about your duties and responsibilities, or if HR is not under you. However, being an Operations Head means that you should handle all operations — all the services to customers, HR, administrative tasks, some of which include accounting, quality, etc.

As an Operations Head, it is understood that you are mainly responsible for the operations of the services you provide. With that said, it is crucial to ensure that you have enough manpower to carry out these operations. Without adequate manpower, completing the tasks would not be feasible. Therefore, in the case of any layoffs, it is essential to clearly explain the situation to the affected employees, while ensuring that all salary and benefits are provided in accordance with government and company regulations.

In the future, you may require the assistance of those who have been laid off. Therefore, it is important to ensure that their departure is handled with care.
