Gratuity Calculation Confusion: Is Including DA Really Necessary?

Dear All,

Please clarify the calculation of gratuity. In the general formula for gratuity, is the consideration of DA mandatory or not?

As per the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 - "Wages" means:
- Basic and Dearness Allowance (if any).
- It does not include any Bonus, Commission, HRA, Overtime Wages, Special Allowance, and Reimbursement for the calculation.
