Is an ESIC Code Really Necessary for EPF Registration? Seeking Guidance on Procedure and Documents

We are a private limited company. We want to apply for EPF registration only. However, someone said that to get an EPF code, an ESIC code is compulsory. Is it true, or can we register without an ESIC code? Please provide the procedure for that and the documents required.

There are no rules that require you to have ESIC Registration before obtaining EPF Registration. You can register for EPF without having ESIC Registration.
