Employee Injured After Shift: Are We Responsible for Compensation Under ESI?

Hi friends,

One employee was injured while on his way home after his shift, and he is covered under ESI. Could you please inform us if we (the organization) are eligible to provide any compensation for his injury?

Employees will receive treatment from the ESIC dispensary/hospital and wage benefits also if the accident occurs within duty hours. Then, they should submit Form 12 online (accident report).

Before submitting an online accident report, please firstly check the type of accident. In cases of normal injury, there is no requirement to submit an accident report. You can only submit an accident report in the event of a fatal accident, if a complaint has been filed at the police station, if an FIR has been registered, and if there has been a death of the IP.
