Can My Company Take Legal Action If I Quit Without Serving the Notice Period Due to Health Issues?

Sir, I joined a multinational company. The salary is performance-based, and I didn't sign any bond. Due to my health problems, I am quitting the job without serving the notice period. They are asking me to serve a notice period of 21 days. However, they didn't inform me of any rules and regulations during the joining process. If I don't serve the notice period, does the company have the right to take legal action? Please clarify my doubt. I worked for 45 days, but they are asking me to serve a 21-day notice period.

You must have an appointment letter. Please check it. There should be an exit clause in it. A bond is not everything.
