Facing a Date of Birth Mismatch on My Experience Letter: How Should I Handle It?

Hi, I worked for an organization in 2007 for six months and left. I have the experience letter from them. At that time, I didn't have a PAN card or any other ID proof, but now I am planning to rejoin the organization. The issue is that my birth year was mentioned as 1983 back then; however, as per my PAN card and Aadhar, it is 1985 after the correction. Do I need to submit just an affidavit or any other proof as well? Also, to avoid any rejections, I decided to mention the old date of birth in my resume for the re-application. This is to prevent rejection due to a date of birth mismatch.

Kindly advise on what steps to take as not only I, but also my family is depending on this job. I am expecting an email for the documentation date in a day or two.

Hi Samuel, in my view, you should discuss with the HR Manager of the organization you are rejoining in person before your joining date. Taking him/her into confidence, present all facts before him/her and also inform that the year of birth mentioned by you in the CV is in accordance with your previous employment records with them. You should also mention to them that there was no bad intention and that you are willing to submit a declaration along with the relevant proofs for their employee records. Do not worry.
