Struggling with PF Portal Data Corrections? Seeking Advice on Fixing Employee Details

Please let me know if there is any process to correct employees' personal data (e.g., name, father's name, DOB, etc.) in the PF portal online. I am in HR of a private company, and we have submitted joint applications along with the proofs to the PF office for data correction over the last 6 months for some of our employees, but there have been no results. Please help me.

Dear Ms. Chumki,

Changes in name and father's name can't be made once registered. However, a part of the name can be changed upon submission of proof and the required documents. The process is handled only by the PF Department. You can't make any changes online, so you should take up the case with the concerned authorities, i.e., the PF Commissioner, to decide on your matter.

For a change in Date of Birth (DOB), the valid documents are:

1) Birth certificate
2) SSC certificate (any one)

The office may ask the person to show the original certificate to bypass the verification by the concerned issuing authority.

You can initiate the process for changing personal details by submitting the attached joint declaration form to the PF Office.

Through a joint declaration, you can update the details of a PF subscriber in the regional office of the PF department. Make sure you have updated details in Aadhar and submit a copy of the updated Aadhar card as proof.
