Pay slip - Electronic Record keeping permission from Labour Department?

maniish1311
Dear All,
I've a query regarding salary slip write up. Can we use "This is a computer generated payslip hence signature is not required". Recently received some information that we need permission for Labour Department for this, and for that need to file application for Electronic Record keeping permission".
I am not sure about this information and wasn't aware about this rule.
So, are we supposed to write the above line without any permission or is there any clause for the same?
Thanks,
Manish

Best person to answer this is your statutory compliance consultant or your interface with the Labor department.

Dear Manish,
It is true that you are required to obtain permission from Labour Commissioner for maintaining records Electronically. However, it is not an offence to maintain records electronically without obtaining permission and Labour Department cannot prosecute for the same. Hon'ble Courts are also favouring records maintenance electronically.

Suresh
