How Do You Define a Half Day at Work? Seeking Clarity on Work Hours in Start-Ups

I am working as a junior HR in a start-up company where we follow 8 hours of work a day, including an hour of lunch break. So, how many hours of work are to be considered as half day? Is it 4 hours or 5 hours?
