Overtime Rules: Can You Claim Compensation for Unpaid Hours After Leaving a Job?

Is the norm of 50 hours for three consecutive months the same or modified? Is it necessary to get prior approval from HR? If overtime payment is paid less, can an employee demand compensation after leaving the job, claiming they were cheated?

In Maharashtra, overtime of 117 hours a quarter is now allowed. Employees can raise a claim after leaving, but only up to a certain period - I think 3 months. However, I do not understand how he can claim cheating.

Cheating means that the employee did not know that overtime payment should be double the normal wages per hour as per the act. Until then, he thought it was up to management's policy.
