Confused About ESI Contributions? Why My 67-Year-Old Employee's Payment Isn't Showing?

mishra.suraj623@gmail.com
Is there any change in the minimum ceiling or change in age limit for employee contribution to ESI? When uploading the Excel for the month of July 2017, the employee contribution is not reflecting, although the employer contribution is showing for the said employee. She is a cook, and her gross monthly salary is Rs. 3250. Her date of birth shows she is 67 years old.

Last month (June 2017), the employee contribution was showing and paid.

I came to know from the Kolkata Regional office of ESI (Contact No. 033-22364451) that the exemption ceiling for EE contribution was for employees earning wages up to Rs 100/- per day. Now the ceiling is Rs 137 per day. It means employees earning wages of Rs 137/- per day need not contribute towards ESI; only the employer needs to contribute for them. The above information is based on verbal confirmation from the ESI office. If anyone has the circular copy, please share the same.

Hi,
There has been an amendment in Employees' State Insurance (Central), Rules, 1950 in Rule 52 - Exemption from payment of employee's contribution where the average daily wages has been changed from Rs 100 to Rs 137.
Please find attached notification for the same.
