Dear Mansi,
Yes, it is mandatory to pay encashment at the time Full and Final but the number of leaves may vary as per state. That means for eg. if the employee has 180 days balance then you may encash complete 180 days of the maximum accumulation limit prescribed by the state govt. Please note, you need to adopt same policy for all the employees.

Yes it is mandatory. You may have an option of not enchashing leave while employee is in service, unless you refuse a leave request. However, at the time of resignation, termination or retirement you must compulsorily encash balance leave as per shop and establishment act of the concerned state. Also, this rule is applicable across levels and does not differentiate between workman and supervisor.

Dear Sir,
Greeting!!
Thank you for giving such a good reply
I was asking because there is an employee in our company how did something wrong so that he terminated.
Usually we take only 45 leave of an employee for the time of full & final, rest of leave we incased yearly but I want to ask that can we incased more than 45 leave, less than 45 leave or if we didn’t do any encashment it’s also okay.
There is any website where I can take a documents which is prove of the leave encashment because my boss wants prove that why we do leave encashment
