Hi Seniors,

I am working as an HR Trainee in an IT Company. My training/probation period is 6 months. During this period, I am planning to resign and move to another company. My doubt is, during the training period, is it compulsory to work the notice period after giving my resignation letter? Please help me, and thanks in advance.

In India, the notice period requirement during the training period can vary based on company policies, employment contracts, and applicable labor laws. Here are some key points to consider:

- Company Policy: Check your company's HR policies or employment contract to understand if there are specific provisions regarding the notice period during the training period. Some companies may require a notice period even during the training phase.

- Legal Perspective: According to the Indian labor laws, the notice period during the training period is generally not mandatory. However, it is advisable to review the specific terms mentioned in your employment agreement.

- Professional Approach: It is always recommended to maintain professionalism when resigning, even during the training period. Giving a notice period, if feasible, can help in a smooth transition and leave a positive impression.

- Communication: Discuss your intention to resign with your immediate supervisor or HR department. Clarify any doubts regarding the notice period and seek guidance on the resignation process.

- Exit Process: If a notice period is required, ensure to follow the resignation process as outlined by the company. Complete any pending tasks, hand over responsibilities, and tie up loose ends before your last working day.

- Documentation: Make sure to submit a formal resignation letter, clearly stating your last working day as per the company's requirements. Keep a copy of the resignation letter for your records.

- New Opportunity: Once you have resigned, focus on your transition to the new company. Prepare for a smooth exit and a fresh start in your new role.

Remember, while a notice period might not be mandatory during the training period in India, it is essential to handle the resignation process professionally and courteously to maintain a positive professional reputation.
