Is Employer EPF Contribution Required for Employees Earning Over 15,000 Basic Salary?

If an employee is earning more than 15000 basic salary per month and contributing to EPF account at 12% on 15000, which is 1800, is it mandatory for the employer to contribute to EPF for such an employee?

We are a Central Govt. PSU planning to engage contract labor for the operation and annual maintenance of various electrical services in the office premises. We have applied for the Principal Employer certificate as well. We need to have two sets of different contractors, A and B, having 12 and 4 workmen respectively. All the workmen will be new entrants to PF. As per the present minimum wages, all their monthly wages are above Rs. 15,000.

PF Compliance for Monthly Wages Above Rs. 15,000

We need to know:

1. Since the monthly wages are above Rs. 15,000, do they need to comply with PF norms?

2. In case a laborer works for about 20 days and his monthly wages are less than Rs. 15,000, should the PF, PF admin, and EDLI (both employer/employee shares) be paid?

ESI Act Compliance for Monthly Wages Below Rs. 21,000

3. Since the monthly wages are less than Rs. 21,000, we hope that they need to comply with the ESI Act, isn’t it?
