Dear Yasmin,

LLP, Public Ltd, Private Ltd, Partnership, Sole Proprietorship - all these phrases refer to the constitution of the organization engaged in any business activity. The establishment-related Labour Law and other allied Acts applicable to it depend on its type, such as a shop, commercial establishment, or factory.

Dear Yasmin,

If you have any manufacturing process going on in the company, with or without the aid of power, engaging 20, 40, or more employees respectively, then the Factories Act will apply. However, if your activity is trading or services where there is no manufacturing activity involved, then the Shops Act will apply. The definition of a manufacturing process is very wide, so I suggest you first describe your activity elaborately so that correct advice can be provided.
