Dear All, My name is Narayana. Two months ago, I joined a small consultancy as an operations manager in the HR department. In the first month, I observed the company's work processes and procedures. From the second month, I started handling the South India operations, from recruitment to exit formalities for all employees.
Challenges in the Current Role
This consultancy lacks proper policies, organization, and work culture. I am managing payroll for the first time here and made some errors initially. My reporting manager (director) reacted harshly, using inappropriate language. I am required to seek confirmation even for sending a simple email. Additionally, I did not receive a hard copy of the offer letter, no induction, training on my roles and responsibilities, or the two-year non-confidentiality agreement that was mentioned in the soft copy offer letter.
Decision to Move On
Due to these reasons, I have decided not to continue working there as it is not beneficial for my career growth. I am considering not including this two-month experience on my resume.
I seek suggestions from the active members in CiteHR on how to proceed further.
Best Regards, Narayana. A Location: Bangalore, India
