Can an employee get PF and pension benefits after 58 years?

Yes, any employee will receive PF and pension if they attain 58 years and retire. If they are in the private sector, they have to submit a form at the respective PF office stating that they have reached 58 years of age and are currently not employed elsewhere.

My query is: suppose an employee has completed his 58 years of age in our organization, and he was receiving EPF & EPS benefits. After turning 58, he continues to work in our company as an on-roll employee. In this case, should we still provide EPF & EPS benefits?

If the employee wishes, he can continue to be an EPS member for another 2 years, i.e., until 60 years, provided he is eligible for EPS at the time of attaining 58 years.

Similarly, an employee can continue to be an EPF member even after attaining 58 years, provided there is continuity in service and the employee has not withdrawn his EPF accumulations.

Furthermore, the employer can also consider such employees (retired after attaining 58 years) as "excluded employees" from the purview of EPF and EPS coverage.
