If the employee wishes, he can continue to be an EPS member for another 2 years, i.e., until 60 years, provided he is eligible for EPS at the time of attaining 58 years.
Similarly, an employee can continue to be an EPF member even after attaining 58 years, provided there is continuity in service and the employee has not withdrawn his EPF accumulations.
Furthermore, the employer can also consider such employees (retired after attaining 58 years) as "excluded employees" from the purview of EPF and EPS coverage.
