I have worked as a professor in an engineering class for nearly 2.5 years. They haven't provided me with an allotment letter (even though I asked them, they always said they would give it to me later), and payment was in cash. Now, when I asked them for an experience certificate, they are asking for 5000 rs as a bribe for the certificate. I have proof, both audio and video, of them telling me that they know I have worked for them but will only issue the certificate if I give them 5000 rs. I need help with what to do.

Since the number of employees at the institution you worked for must have been less than 50, the Standing Orders Act is not applicable to the class. The best course of action for you is to threaten them with going to the police and obtaining a service certificate (the term "experience certificate" is incorrect) for free from them, I thought.

There is no harm in going to the police station; they will help you and let you know what documentation they require.

In the future, don't join any organization without getting an appointment letter, as that itself is an indication that the company might not be reputable.
