Maternity Leave Pay: How Much Should Women Receive During and After Leave?

Can anyone give me a clear answer on what and how much percentage should be paid to a woman availing maternity leave? Please clarify what wages should be paid to her during her maternity leave and after maternity leave is complete.

Ideally, the Act states that the employer is liable for "payment of maternity benefit at the rate of the average daily wage for the period of her actual absence immediately preceding and including the day of her delivery and for the six weeks immediately following that day."
