Waiting for Final Paycheck from Former Employer: What Steps Should I Take?

I worked at Safe Hands Logistic Pvt Ltd as Assistant Manager Accounts since April 2013. I left the organization on 25th May 2017 after serving a notice period of 20 days. However, my full and final settlement for May 2017 has not been released by the employer yet. Can you suggest what steps I should take in this situation?

You can send your ex-employer a legal notice through counsel demanding the outstanding amount, but it depends on the terms and conditions mentioned in the appointment letter executed at the time of your appointment.

Have you contacted them for the release of your payment? What was their reply? Was the reply verbal or in writing?

Write a letter to them asking for the release of your payment as you are in dire need of money. Request them to pay immediately. If you do not receive a reply within 2 weeks, contact a reputable advocate who specializes in service matters and proceed according to their advice.

They can deduct the notice pay in lieu of a period of ten days, but they have to give you the full and final settlement. I wonder why they didn't clear it on your last day of working. Many organizations ask for 45 days to clear the dues. Be firm in your communication with them. Also, write to them that if they don't clear the dues, you will go legal. Send the letter by registered mail.
