Understanding PF Interest: Does a Non-Contributory Account Earn Interest After 36 Months?

What is the interest position of the non-contributory PF account after 36 months? If somebody leaves the job and their PF accumulation remains unclaimed with the PF department after 36 months, can he/she still earn interest on the accumulated amount? If yes, then is there any circular/notification issued by the EPFO?

Unclaimed EPF becomes dormant after 36 months of non-contribution. It is always advised to transfer the account to the present EPF account.
