Managing Two Factories in Chennai: Do We Need Separate Standing Orders for Each?

My company has two factories located at different places in Chennai. Do we require different standing orders or is one sufficient?

If the combined manpower of both the factories (all-inclusive) equals or exceeds manpower applicability for the Standing Orders Act in TN, then the act is applicable to you. In such a case, TN model standing orders will be applicable to both factories. You may be confusing model and certified standing orders. It is not mandatory to get your standing orders certified.

To apply for the Certification of Standing Orders, you need to submit the application to the Deputy Labour Commissioner. Once the Certification is obtained, it will also be applicable to your Second Factory. In the application draft, ensure to specify that the Standing Orders will be applicable to your other Factories located in - mentioning the respective places.
