Is the Wages Act of 1936 Relevant for Subcontractors and Their Payment Deadlines?

If any subcontractor is engaged by any principal employer, will the Wages Act be applicable to the subcontractor?

Is it necessary for any subcontractor to disburse payments to their employees on or before the 7th of every month?

The Wages Act of 1936 is applicable to contract labour.

If your site engages more than 1000 all-inclusive employees, then it will be legal to pay wages on or before the 10th; otherwise, they have to be paid by the 7th day of the following month. The Payment of Wages Act is applicable to all employees.
