How Can I Withdraw My PF When My Previous Employer No Longer Exists?

Mohan Kumar Srivastava
Hi,

I want to withdraw my PF from my previous employer. I have all the PF details of the same, but that employer does not exist now. Some have undergone mergers, and some have closed down. Due to the reasons mentioned, it is challenging for me to obtain the sign-off from my old employer.

Please let me know the process to withdraw my PF in this case. Your quick response is highly appreciated.

Considering it's a case of a merger, you should be aware of the company that has purchased your previous employer. Typically, the company that has acquired your previous employer should be managing the PF as well. Approach them and find out what happened to the PF formalities maintained by your previous employer. You can also approach the PF authorities and try to find out, as your PF number would entail the company PF code number too. The entire withdrawal process may not be easy given the situation you are in. I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Nikita

Hi,

I have read and, as per my understanding, if someone is not able to trace their previous employer or get the sign-off from them on the PF withdrawal form, then they can fill out the required form and obtain the sign-off from a Doctor, MP, MLA, or a trusted officer. They can then submit the form to the PF office along with the PF slips and other details of the previous employer.

Please confirm if this information is accurate. In this scenario, could you please advise on the forms that need to be filled out by the employee to withdraw the PF?

Regards,
Mohan
