Types of research design - explorative and conclusive research design?

Please tell me the types of research design. I am little confused because I saw a sample project in that the types written were explorative and conclusive research design but the web is showing differently. Please tell the types of research design as it will help me to complete my project. Please give suggestions at the earliest.

Than you for your suggestion. I am doing internship at Ma Foi. I prepared a questionnaire for performance appraisal so I have to select the type of research design that I should apply. I am doing internship in a private company.
