Facing Insurance Claim Rejection for Deceased Worker Without PAN Card – What Can Be Done?

Nimit1988
Dear Sir/Madam,

I am working in a staffing firm and have a query regarding an insurance claim for the death of a contractual laborer. I have submitted the claim to the insurance company, but they are requesting the PAN card of the deceased laborer. However, he did not possess a PAN card. Could you please advise on the necessary steps to take in this situation? Will the insurance company reject the claim due to the absence of a PAN card?

Dear Member,

The Insurance Company cannot reject a claim solely on the ground that the "Deceased Employee" did not have a PAN CARD. You have to submit documents of the Nominee/Legal heir. Is the deceased Employee's name included in the Policy?

Thank you.

The laborer is not an income tax payer, wherein he will carry a PAN card. Please ask the insurance company for what reason they require the PAN card of the deceased.
