Can you please give me information about CLRA 1970 CENTRAL - labour license not renewed after it get expired? What is the process and what are the fines? How to proceed if the labor commissioner refuses to renew it?
The Labour Department officials cannot refuse to renew the license unless you fail to comply with the provisions of the Act or make any grave mistakes. However, you will have to pay a fine as per the rules to get it renewed.
Labor commissioner will not refuse to renew it. You may need to furnish an appropriate reason for the delay and need to pay an amount of fine which is laid down under the process. For this, you need to visit the labor office immediately.
Under the central rules, contractors have to apply 30 days prior to the expiry of their license for renewal. Since you have not renewed, you have to apply afresh for a new license.
