Determining the Correct EPF Exit Date for an Employee Who Passed Away During Night Shift

My concern is that a person was on duty during the night shift from 10 PM to 6:30 AM on the date 15/04/17. He passed away after experiencing stomach pain and being hospitalized at 5:30 AM during his duty hours. Please guide me on which date should be mentioned as his last day in the EPF exit for the employee - 15/04/2017 or 16/04/2017. I believe 16/04/2017 is correct. Can you confirm if this is okay?

It should be April 16, 2017, to the best of my belief since he has completed his day of work. Secondly, the date of his death is April 16, 2017. Since his death occurred during the course of his employment, for the benefit of the employee, it should be April 16, 2017.
