How Can I Remove Incorrect KYC Details from the EPFO Site After Employer's Mistake?

revk
Dear Experts/Members, please help me out with this long-standing issue I'm facing. My employer mistakenly entered another employee's bank account and PAN number on the KYC page of the new EPFO website. When I noticed this mistake and brought it to their attention, they acknowledged that it was an error made during manual upload and requested me to input the correct bank account number, PAN, and Aadhaar details myself, assuring me that they would approve the updated information. They also mentioned that upon approval of the new KYC details, the incorrect KYC data of the other employee would be automatically removed. Consequently, I updated my correct KYC information, and my employer approved it using a digital signature.

However, the KYC page now displays both the old and new details—showing two bank account numbers (one mine and one belonging to the other employee), my Aadhaar, and the other employee's PAN.

My question is - how can I delete the incorrect KYC details from the EPFO page? There seems to be no delete option available on the page for either the employee or the employer.

Please advise on what steps to take.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Revk, nothing to worry. There is no option to delete multiple KYC uploaded and approved through digital signature. When you apply for withdrawal, the withdrawal amount will be credited to the account number mentioned in the cancelled cheque leaf attached to the withdrawal application and bank details mentioned therein.

Similarly, when you submit IT Form No. 15G together with a self-attested photocopy of the PAN card, details mentioned therein will be taken on record. You need not worry about wrong KYC lying in the portal since you have already uploaded the correct KYC.

Thank you, Shreenath, for the clarification. I have uploaded my correct bank account number, but I could not upload my PAN (since another employee's PAN is already accepted against my name, and the portal is not accepting two PANs). Will this be okay? I read somewhere on the EPFO website that if KYC does not match the person's name, then PF withdrawal will not be allowed.

I wish to leave the current company and join another company where I have an offer, but I'm afraid of leaving with this PF issue hanging.

Thanks.

Latest approved KYC is valid; older ones will not be considered by the department.

On a similar note, an old PF account - from before the online era - presents the following case facts: 1) KYC is not updated, 2) the Date of Birth (DOB) is incorrectly entered by the employer, thus hindering online access, 3) Employer lack of support, 4) Employee services terminated two years ago, and the employee is currently 58 years old.

How can the employee proceed with claims?

Meet the helpdesk or professional of EPF. If the employee can establish that he is the genuine and bona fide beneficiary holder of the specified EPF account, then the signature of the bank manager of the employee will work.

Thanks, Sharma. Kindly clarify a doubt... If it involves two different states, employee work desk, and employer EPFO. Can sending a registered AD with all requisite documents and proofs to EPFO help, or is a personal visit a must.

Dear All,

Some employees in my company have been PF members for 10 years or more. However, discrepancies exist between the date of birth (DOB) in the PF record and the Aadhar card, as well as variations in the spelling of names between the two records.

These discrepancies have prompted these employees to approach me for assistance in correcting their names and DOBs. They are receiving text messages (KYC not uploaded) every month from EPFO regarding their monthly contributions.

I kindly seek guidance on how to upload their KYC information.

Thank you.
Srinath Sai Ram
Date of Birth furnished to PF Office will be taken on record. Date of birth mentioned in Aadhaar will not be taken into consideration. But if there is a mismatch of Name in PF Record vis-a-vis Aadhaar card, Aadhaar cannot be linked. Please upload Aadhaar card and find out the actual reason to decide further course of action. What is the correct name of EPF Member, DOB matters most based on documentary proof.

Thank you, Shreenath jee, for this.

But, as per the employees, their correct name and date of birth (DOB) is on their Aadhaar card. Now, they want to correct their name in the PF record to match the details on their Aadhaar card. How can they do that?
rinki.maswasi@rediffmail.com
Aadhar card was issued based on the election card, and in the election card, only the year of birth is mentioned. Due to this discrepancy, in the PF record and Aadhar record, the date of birth is mismatched while the year is the same. However, due to the date difference, it is not possible to update KYC in UAN.

Now, how can I update my KYC?

Dear all,

I have lost both my UAN number and previous PF account number. Now, I plan to join a new company. They are asking for my UAN number. I have already withdrawn my PF amount many months before. How can I retrieve my previous UAN, or do I need to open a new PF account with my new employer?

Thomas

Dear Experts/Members,

Please help me. By mistake, I have entered one of our employee's Aadhaar (KYC) number details in EPFO. How can I delete the old number and enter the new Aadhaar (KYC) number? Please advise on what steps to take.

Thank you.
Srinath Sai Ram
Dear Das, even if you have wrongly entered the Aadhaar number, it will not get linked to the EPF member concerned because of a mismatch. Consequently, enter the correct Aadhaar number, which will be verified by the portal. Later on, you can approve the same with a digital signature.

Dear Experts/Members,

Please help me resolve my issue with the UAN account portal's KYC details. My employer mistakenly entered another employee's PAN number on the KYC page of the new EPFO website. When I noticed this mistake and brought it to their attention, they acknowledged the error was made during manual upload and requested me to input the correct PAN number myself for their approval.

I have attempted to add my PAN details in the KYC, but when updating my PAN card details against my UAN, an error message appears stating, "Name against UAN does not match with the name in the Income Tax Department." How can I resolve this issue?

Thank you.
Glidor
Check your UAN details first. If they match, then the PAN database should be verified here. Select challan 280 and enter the PAN number and other details. It will display the name, giving a few letters hidden:

@Glidor,

Thanks for your reply.

UAN details and PAN details are the same, and Aadhar is also the same, but I am still getting an error. It would be a great help if you could suggest any other way to resolve this.

Thanks
Glidor
@Navnit, if both data are the same, then there is no reason for rejection. Check carefully and reload. The system works by uploading data to the portal server, which then routes the data to the NSDL database. If it matches fully, it gets seeded for approval by the employer. Read the message carefully at the time of seeding.

It is better to take a print of the UAN card and match the spelling/DOB with the Aadhar card data. Then try to understand the error.

@Chandanbit

Go through the member portal and modify basic details. Enter the details exactly as per Aadhar. Once submitted, ask your employer to verify it digitally. All instructions are available on the portal.
