My sister lost her baby during 31 weeks of her pregnancy. Is she entitled to 6 months of maternity leave? Could you please provide information on the benefits available for stillbirth?

There is a difference between stillbirth and miscarriage. Stillbirth is not common at 31 weeks.

Please confirm whether it is a miscarriage or stillbirth.

The baby died during the 31st week and was delivered. I believe a miscarriage typically occurs before the 21st week of pregnancy.

The employee will be entitled to 6 weeks of leave. Further, any leave already granted prior to delivery will not be deducted or disallowed.
