In Production Unit, Is There Compulsory Public Holiday?

Dear All,
Please suggest me... in production unit, is there compulsory Public Holiday ?? or we can take approval from Factory Inspector...
or is there any written any book or some where in labour laws and etc....
kindly suggest me asap...

there are many compulsory holidays, mentioned in various lab our laws. First one is weekly holiday, national holidays, etc., besides these leave provisions is existing in the concern acts. So first prepare standing orders for your organisation as basic rules to run the organisation smoothly.

Please clarify what do you mean by "Compulsory Public Holiday" are you referring to Private/Public Sector

Please refer to National Festival Holidays Act & Rules thereunder to know about NH&FH/Paid Holidays.
Please refer to Sec 135B of the Representation of People Act to know about declaration of Holiday during Elections
