Concerned About Ex-Employee Misusing Company ID? How to Ensure Its Safe Return

singh.ranalko
Hello everyone,

I was trying to find a query related to I-CARD submission after leaving the organization without serving the notice period but didn't find any. Kindly please help because the person who left the organization gave fake excuses, and I am worried he may use the ID for the wrong purpose.

I would like to know how we can compel him to submit it or what email I should send him.

Thanks
Bharat Gera
1. Hope the employee has given her resignation letter (reasons at this stage do not matter).

2. Please send a letter to the employee asking him to complete the clearance formalities to settle his/her dues. Ask for returning the company property for closing the account.

3. If the employee does not respond/revert/obey, wait for two weeks and send her a legal notice for returning the company property.

What are the possible harms that an employee can do to the company with his/her identity card has to be ascertained. If the company feels it will be significant, then please advertise in the daily newspaper that the employee is not associated with your company. Any dealings with the said employee, the company will not be held responsible for such deals.

Ask him to surrender his ID card immediately. Find out where he is currently employed and mail to the same without delay. You have all rights to send such an email. However, you can also talk to the employee before taking any further action.

By the way, how were his accounts settled without collecting all of these? It seems that you have also failed to follow the proper procedure before relieving an employee.

If the employer is not willing to publish in the newspaper, it is better to send out or circulate a notice through mail with his photograph, stating that the person is no longer with your company. Request that they do not entertain or entrust any work or contact with him, and ask them to circulate this information among their employees who were dealing with or contacting him. This approach will be less costly and effective as well. A notice can also be put up on your notice board addressed to him and for the information of all other employees. The same notice can be sent to his last known address.
