Returning Employee After a Year: Do We Need a New Employee Code and ID Card?

p.susanta86@gmail.com
Dear All,

Suppose one employee rejoins the same organization after 1 year of his relieving (all the exit formalities completed as per the rule), is it necessary to create a fresh employee code in EDMS? New ID card also?

Regards,

Hi Susanta.

When the same employee joins the company after one year, he has acquired an additional year of knowledge. As a result, he may not be rehired at the same salary or in the same position. Therefore, the new employee will receive a new ID card and a new access code.

Hi,

Yes, you have to issue him a new I-Card, even though he had previously worked for the company a year ago. His file was closed at that time, and now he has rejoined as a new employee.

You have rehired an employee. His date of joining is new. Consequently, a new employee ID has to be created, and a new ID card has to be issued.
