Hi sir, I was working at an IT company where I submitted my resignation on 30th August 2016. During my notice period (NP), they assigned me to a client location and pressured me to withdraw my resignation. However, due to personal issues with my wife, I was unable to comply. Before my NP was completed, they emailed me to extend it by an additional 2 months, which I found unacceptable. Consequently, I refused their proposal. On the same night, at 11 o'clock, they called me for a meeting after office hours, where they coerced me and obtained my acceptance via email for the extension of my NP. I agreed under the condition that once my replacement was in place at the client location and my knowledge transfer (KT) was completed, they would release me.
In the interim, they found a replacement and informed me on the 7th of November 2016 that it was my last working day. They took two days to complete the exit formalities at the client location, and on the 9th of November, I returned to the office to complete the remaining exit procedures. Despite only having a 60-day NP specified in my offer letter, this marked the completion of 72 days of my NP. The exit formalities were finalized, and I was told that the VP was currently unavailable. They assured me that once the VP approved my release, they would send me the soft copy of the release letter and credit my salary in the first week of the following month.
After leaving the city and even the state, I have been continuously reaching out via email and phone calls to inquire about my salary and documents. However, there has been no positive response for the past 6 months. I have contacted various individuals including the VP, COO (to whom I had sent the mail regarding the NP extension), and the HR head, but none of them have responded to my inquiries or calls. I attempted to visit the office in person to address the issue, but I was denied entry at the main gate of the IT park as I needed an email for a visitor pass, which they failed to provide. After numerous attempts at contact, I finally reached someone who stated that the approval for the visitor pass was pending from the COO or VP, and once it was granted, they would send me the soft copy, repeating the same words as on my last working day.
I am seeking guidance on what steps to take and where to seek assistance in this matter. Thank you.
