Moving Abroad and Need to Withdraw PF from Two Companies – Is It Possible?

vijaybhaskar54
Hi Everyone - I worked for a software company from June 2011 to December 2014. Later, I moved to a new company and have been working there since then. My first company maintains PF in a trust, and I didn't transfer the PF amount to my new company. Now I am moving abroad and I want to withdraw the PF amount from both companies. Is it possible to withdraw PF from both companies?

Hi, I'm Karan. Please help me out. I'm working in Mumbai and facing some financial problems. Can I claim my PF amount without resigning from my job? I'm not familiar with PF rules. Can you let me know how much amount I can get after resigning from my job? Will it be the full amount or only the employee contribution? I have completed 3 years.

Dear Vijay,

When did you stop working at the new company? No doubt you can withdraw your PF credits from both of them (one is run by a Trust). Okay, how about the new company? In any case, you have to obtain prescribed forms from them and apply by attaching your service particulars, copies of Aadhaar card, PAN, photo, and a cancelled cheque leaf. Please contact your PF Trust to do the needful.

Dear Karan,

You have not provided your particulars and information about your PF administration. There is a provision to obtain a loan refundable with interest for certain reasons such as marriage, medical expenses, etc., for which you need not resign, subject to certain conditions. Withdrawal from the PF account is possible only when you leave your employer after a 6-month waiting period. Please approach or consult your PF administrator.

You are not eligible for a PF loan/advance, as suggested by Mr. Kumar S, because your membership is only 3 years.

Furthermore, you can withdraw the PF amount after 60 days from the date of leaving the job, provided you are not employed in any organization to which the EPF Act applies.

EPF as a Retirement Fund

EPF is a "Retirement Fund" and not a Crisis Fund. Please contact your HR department to obtain your PF Member ID and UAN. Activate your UAN and download the Member Passbook to know the amount lying in your account.

After downloading the Passbook, make a decision about resigning from your job.

I agree with Mr. Srinath P. F. Can't withdraw if he is working, whether exempted or in an exempted position. Since he is leaving the country, he can withdraw from both companies.

Pranesh

Hi KUKKI JI,

In the new portal, there is a separate section where you can fill in the details of an exiting member. The path is as follows:
Member > Profile > Enter the UAN or PF No. of the specific employee who has left > Mark Exit > Provide the reason and date of the exit.

Another method is by uploading a bulk file. The path for this process is:
Member > Exit Bulk. The format of the bulk file is attached.
