SOUBHIK KUMAR GHOSH
Dear All,

Please be informed that there has been an amendment in the Employees' Compensation Act. Now, the employer must inform new employees about their rights under the Employees' Compensation Act, 2017, by displaying an abstract of the act or providing the provisions in English, Hindi, and the local language. Failure to comply will result in a minimum penalty imposed on the employer of Rs. 50,000 up to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000.

Thank you.

I have one more question. If existing employees are not aware of such rights, do we need to inform them about the same or should only new joiners from now on be informed?
SOUBHIK KUMAR GHOSH
Dear Mr. Sahdev Singh Ji,

The abstract of the Act should be placed in a conspicuous place so everyone can read it. If possible, the abstract should be in English, Hindi, and the local language.

Regards

Dear SoubhikJi,

Thank you for your reply. Could you please provide us with any write-up or draft document regarding this? I am not familiar with the rights of employees under the EC Act.

The abstract is the summary of rights under the act. Take the abstract from the act and display that in English and the local language.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out with your request. The abstract serves as a concise overview of the rights outlined in the act. It is essential to accurately present this information in both English and the local language. By ensuring clarity and accuracy in the translation of the abstract, individuals will have a better understanding of their rights and obligations. If you require any further assistance or clarification, please feel free to reach out.
