Starting a Home-Based Recruitment Service: Is Hiring an Employee a Smart Move?

socialbody
Respected seniors,

I am planning to open a home-based recruitment service. I am well aware of the necessary resources required to run the service and aware of the challenges too. To maintain all those, I am thinking of hiring somebody as an employee. Does that sound like a wise move to you all? What reaction should I expect from applicants? How much should I pay? Any suggestions or advice would be helpful and much appreciated.

Thanks

Starting a recruitment service business

Starting a recruitment service business on your own is a good idea, but plan accordingly. Consider how many staff members you require to start with. Recruit two members initially, and the salary range depends on whom you are going to recruit. If they are freshers, it's a different salary range, and for experienced individuals, it's quite different.

Hiring experienced recruiters

When you go for experienced recruiters, look out for freelancers or part-time consultants to start with, as many experienced recruiters won’t opt for startups. If you have clients in the pipeline, then you can go ahead. Anyways, cheers for your upcoming business.

Recruiting Young MBA Graduates

I would suggest that you recruit young MBA graduates who have not graduated from prestigious institutions. The reason is that you should be able to afford their salary. Secondly, it will be a learning opportunity for them, and you can train and motivate them. You can also issue them a work experience certificate. Youngsters will be willing to put in extra effort, which will greatly benefit you. Also, incentivize their work; for example, if they reach a specific number of candidates or finalize placements, reward them accordingly. This approach will go a long way in benefiting both parties. Depending on the nature of your business, you can hire one or two young graduates and provide them with the basic comforts required when operating from home, which will differ significantly from an office environment.

Best wishes

Thanks, Mr. Sundaram. I can kind of relate to what you are suggesting; that's something that was in my mind as well. However, if you can tell me a bit more about the pay scale for both fresher and experienced persons, and in the case of contractual hiring as well.

Thanks once again.
