Dear Seniors,

Please guide me about the following:

1) A partnership firm is liable to pay a bonus to its employees if the firm has fewer than 10 employees.

Not required to the best of my knowledge as the Payment of Bonus Act states, "An establishment in which 20 or more persons are employed without the aid of power on any day during an accounting year, where Establishment includes Departments, undertakings, and branches, etc."

Hi Saji,

To the best of my knowledge, the firm is not liable as it only has 2-3 employees. Thanks for the clarity.

Sincerely,
Swati Anand
